Theme: ARCÁNGEL ARCABUCERO
Description: Known as an arcabucero angel, the representation of an angel with an arquebus instead of the traditional sword. This style was developed during the colony in South America.
In the viceregal painting of Peru, the theme of the angels is configured as one of the most characteristic of the Cuzco school of painting. Thus, we find that the paintings that represent them develop this pictorial theme in a much more detailed way than in the European case, they also show a great expressive richness and, in general, excellent realization.
